Canoe Trips

swanson riverBeginning in 2013, we are proud to begin offering guided canoe trips on the nearby Swanson River.  After making this float a number of times for personal enjoyment, we have decided to offer this to our guests as a chance to leave the road system and get an opportunity to experience a very memorable wilderness canoe trip that they can accomplish in just a couple days.  Starting at the end of Swanson River Road outside the town the Sterling,  we will depart down the Swanson and enjoy its very scenic path through 28 miles of lowland boreal forest and striking views to the east of the Kenai mountains.  Surrounded by the Kenai’s splendor you will enjoy seeing an abundance of fish and wildlife as well as beautiful wildflowers and various other native flour and fauna.  Elevated camp sites will assure you well situated for enjoying an evening in the midnight sun.  Of course even this short trip into Alaska’s back country cannot be done safely without adequate preparation.  All details of the trip will be meticulously planned and accounted for by your guide ensuring things like bear protection, camping gear, bug repellant, dry bags and fine food and drink are all things you can expect but not worry about.   This trip is all inclusive to ensure you can just enjoy the float and the solitude that comes with getting away from it all.
