the base of spectacular Redoubt volcano. Its glacial-fed waters have a beautiful turquoise green hue very similar to the Kenai.  Also known for its incredible bear viewing, Crescent Lake and Crescent River support a number of salmon runs as well as a healthy population of lake trout and dolly varden.  Fishing for sockeye is best in mid to late July and the fish are very larger and hard fighting.  Silvers enter Crescent Lake later than other systems we fly to, making this a great late season option.  The silver run peaks in the later half of August and again, these fish are big, bright and very agresssive.  Cured salmon eggs and spinners and flies are all very sucessful methods for the Crescent Lake silvers. One unique aspect to this destination is the ability to fish for multiple species.  The dolly varden are literally a fish a cast on small spinners or egg patterns and some can be as big as 10 plus pounds!  There are also large numbers of lake trout available casting from the shores of Crescent Lake.  Add all this up with some of the most spectacular scenery in all of Alaska, incredible bear viewing and you will soon see why Crescent Lake is a one of our most popular late season destinations.
